Project course - wall-hung tool cabinet
Every shop, and every fine woodworker, needs a place to house their cherished tools. The wall-hung tool cabinet is a piece that showcases the art of woodworking and the tools of the craft.
In this course, you will be making the exterior shell and veneer-paneled doors of the wall-hung tool cabinet - each student will create their own panels via vacuum-pressed veneering, creating beautifully bookmatched panels. The three-dimensional exterior doors also feature interior cavities that you can customize for additional tool storage. As no two craftspeople are alike, the interior will need to be designed according to your toolsets and preferences. With instruction from Mr. Sawdust, you will learn ways to mount nearly any hand tool and have the opportunity to create your own mounts with his guidance. There will be a gallery of shallow drawers in the bottom of the cabinet for small tools like measuring devices or other small items.
